About Pow Wow
FSU's Homecoming Pow Wow, sponsored by the Student Government Association, is an annual evening of entertainment and laughter held during The Florida State University's Homecoming festivities before the homecoming game, usually on a Friday. Since the inaugural 1948 pep rally, Pow Wow has evolved into a full night of events, featuring highlights such as performances by the FSU cheerleaders, the FSU Golden Girls, FSU Flying High Circus, and various other student organizations.
Hosted by the voice of the Seminoles, Mr. Gene Deckerhoff, appearances throughout the evening include head football coach Bobby Bowden and the Seminole football team, Leonard Hamilton and the men's basketball team, Sue Semrau and the women's basketball team, and Bob Braman and the track and field teams.
Pow Wow culminates with a headlining comedian. Headliners in the past include (in order of most recent appearances); Jimmy Fallon, Sarah Silverman, Stephen Colbert, Larry the Cable Guy, Carlos Mencia, Cedric the Entertainer, Dave Attell, Dane Cook, and Dave Chapelle.
